BloomBoard is built local-first. On the Free plan you can use it without an account, and your work is stored on your device first: fast, private, and available offline. Sign in when you want your work backed up and synced across your devices, or when you want to work with a team.

What "local-first" means: Your tasks and notes are written to your device first, not to a server. Your own work opens instantly and keeps working offline. If you sign in, a copy is also backed up to the cloud so it syncs across your devices.
Many productivity apps keep your data only on their servers and stream it to your device. If their servers are down or you are offline, you can't reach your work.
BloomBoard works the other way round. Your tasks and notes are written to your computer first, and the app reads them from your device. When you sign in, a copy is backed up to BloomBoard's cloud so it stays the same on all your devices. Your content belongs to you, not to us.
The BloomBoard app stores your data on your computer. If you sign in, it is also backed up to BloomBoard's cloud (hosted with Supabase) so it syncs across your devices. Here's what lives where:
On the Free plan, BloomBoard opens straight into your workspace. There's no registration screen and no password to set. Download it, open it, and it's ready.
You only create an account when you want one: to back up and sync your work across devices, to use a paid plan, or to join a team. Payments are handled by Polar (polar.sh), our merchant of record.
Because your tasks and notes live on your device, your own work keeps running without an internet connection: tasks, boards, notes, streaks, timers, and goals.
Features that need an internet connection:
Everything else works online or off.
Team features (shared boards, team chat, presence, and voice and video calls) need real-time sync, so they run through BloomBoard's servers. Shared boards and chat messages are stored there so your teammates can see them. Calls are not recorded.
You can delete your own messages, leave a team, or ask us to delete your account and its data at any time by writing to support@mybloomboard.app. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Your solo tasks and notes are still stored on your device first, even when you use team features.
Because BloomBoard stores your data locally first, you stay in control:
